# TouchPass

> A macOS menu bar utility that types a locally saved password into supported focused fields after fresh Touch ID approval.

TouchPass runs on Apple silicon Macs with macOS 13 or later and enrolled Touch ID. A user first adds and labels a password. The password value is stored locally in the macOS data-protection Keychain. In a supported focused field, the default customizable ⌥Space shortcut starts fresh Touch ID approval, then shows saved labels. After the user chooses an entry, TouchPass types the password without using the clipboard.

Accessibility permission is required. Some secure fields, browsers, terminals, remote desktops, and custom controls are unsupported. TouchPass does not work at the Mac login screen, replace system authentication, retrieve the Mac password, or bypass an app's security or macOS permissions.

Password values do not sync or back up. Purchasing, activation, and updates use network services, but password values, labels, and biometric results are not sent to the licensing service.

One saved password is free. A one-time USD $5 license enables unlimited saved passwords on two Macs. Users should try the intended apps and fields in free mode before buying.
