How it works

Set it up once. Call it when you need it.

First, add and label a password in TouchPass Settings. TouchPass cannot find or retrieve your Mac password for you.

    Focus the field

    Click a supported password or text field in the app that needs the password.

    Press your shortcut

    Use ⌥Space by default, or choose a different shortcut in TouchPass Settings.

    Approve with Touch ID

    TouchPass asks for a fresh Touch ID approval before showing your saved labels.

    Choose the entry

    Pick the label you saved. TouchPass types the password into the same focused field.

On your Mac

Saved locally. Unlocked deliberately.

Password values are stored in the macOS data-protection Keychain on this Mac. Each use requires fresh Touch ID approval. TouchPass types directly into the focused field and never puts a password on the clipboard.

TouchPass does not sync or back up passwords. Purchasing, license activation, and app updates use network services, but password values, labels, and biometric results are not sent to the licensing service.

Keep the original password somewhere you already trust. TouchPass is not a password backup.

Requirements

TouchPass requires macOS 13 or later, an Apple silicon Mac, enrolled Touch ID, and Accessibility permission to verify the destination and type.

Field support

It works only where macOS Accessibility can identify a supported, focused text field. Some secure fields, browsers, terminals, remote desktops, and custom controls are unsupported.

Boundaries

TouchPass does not work at the Mac login screen, replace system authentication, or bypass an app’s security or macOS permissions.

Free mode includes one saved password, so you can test the apps and fields you intend to use before paying.

Activate in the app

After payment is confirmed, the license key is sent to your purchase email. In TouchPass, open Settings → License, paste the key, and choose Activate This Mac.

Does TouchPass know my Mac password?

No. You add and label the password yourself in TouchPass Settings. TouchPass cannot discover or retrieve it from macOS.

Does it work in every password field?

No. The field must be exposed to macOS Accessibility as a supported, focused text control. Some secure fields, browsers, terminals, remote desktops, and custom controls are unsupported. It does not work at the Mac login screen.

Where is the password stored?

The password value is stored locally in the macOS data-protection Keychain and requires fresh Touch ID approval for use. It is not copied to the clipboard or sent to the licensing service.

Does TouchPass sync or back up passwords?

No. Each Mac keeps its own saved password values. Keep the original passwords in a place you already trust.

What does the $5 license include?

A one-time USD $5 payment enables unlimited saved passwords on two Macs. The free mode keeps one saved password usable.

How do I recover my license key?

Open TouchPass Settings → License, enter the purchase email, and choose Email My License Key. If an active license exists for that address, TouchPass sends the original key there.
